Make your own bunny ears! The children loved this activity. They loved playing with their ears after.

Welcome! I have created this post to provide you with one fun activity that can easily be done at home. With Easter approaching, we made Bunny Ears this week. The children absolutely loved making these. They especially enjoyed playing with them after.
This activity targets, labeling colors, body parts, numbers, qualitative concepts, requesting, and following directions.

Materials:
Pipe cleaners
Headband
Pompom
Glue Gun
Popsicle sticks
Ribbon
1)Ask the child to select the ribbon they would like to use to decorate their head band.
2) Wrap the ribbon around the headband and then use a glue gun to glue the ends.
3)Ask your child to label the color pipe cleaner they would like to use for the ears. Depending on their age you may want to model the color label for them. Always remember to keep your child's language level in mind and expand on it. (e.g. if he speaks in 1-word utterances use 2-words instead "want Blue").
4) Ask your child to select two pipe cleaners of the same color.
5) Next ask your child to bend the pipe cleaner so as to make them into ears. You may need to model/help them with this piece.
5) Glue the ears to the headband with a glue gun.
6) Next ask your child to indicate the color pompom they want for the nose and the color pipe cleaner they want for the whiskers.
7) Have your child select two pipe cleaners. Cut the pipe cleaners into a small, medium and large piece.
8) Glue the pompom onto the popsicle stick on the top of the stick.
9) Glue the medium pieces on the top of both sides of the pompom.
10) Glue the small piece below the medium piece.
11) Glue the large piece on the bottom of the pompom.
12) Put your ears on your head and the nose and whiskers should be held in front of your face.
13) Try and do a bunny hop
My nephews came over and wanted to do Easter Arts and Crafts. It was such a hit, I thought why not. I adjusted the activity to each of their language levels. It was fun for all!
